About Screenshots Generator

Screenshots Generator is a free tool for creating realistic chat mockups. You compose a conversation — the participants, the messages, the timestamps, the read receipts — and export it as an image you can drop into a landing page, an App Store listing, an ad, a tutorial or a slide deck. It currently supports 16 messaging platforms, from WhatsApp and iMessage through to Slack, Discord and Hinge.

It exists because mocking up a believable conversation is genuinely tedious. Designers rebuild the same chat bubbles in Figma for every project; marketers stage screenshots on a real phone and crop them by hand; support teams redact real customer threads and hope they caught everything. This does that work in a browser tab, in about a minute, with no real data involved.

How your data is handled

Everything renders in your browser. The conversations you write are never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never visible to us — the export is produced on your own device using a canvas, and the image is downloaded directly from the page. There is no account requirement for generating or downloading images, and no analytics on the content of what you compose. Signing in is only needed if you choose to buy watermark removal.

What it costs

The editor is free and always will be. Every platform, every export resolution and every file format is available without paying, and downloads are unlimited. Free exports carry a watermark. Paying — $9 once, or $2 a month — removes that watermark, and that is the only difference between the tiers. There is no usage cap, no feature gating, and no trial that expires. Responsible use

These are mockups, and they are meant to be used as mockups — for design, marketing, documentation, teaching and research. They must not be presented as genuine records of real conversations, used as evidence, or used to deceive anyone. That restriction is part of the terms of service, not just a suggestion.

Who builds it

Screenshots Generator is built and maintained by Polo Studio, an independent software studio run by Pranav More. It is a small, self-funded product rather than a venture-backed company, which is why you can reach the person who actually writes the code — see the contact page. Feature requests and bug reports genuinely do get read and, more often than not, shipped.
